Huge help to my business!

For years, my fruit business struggled to stay afloat due to excessively high interest rates charged by money lenders. After hearing about GRAIN’s loan options and services at our Hawker’s Federation meeting, I knew I had to seize the opportunity to revitalize my business. I formed a committee with nine other Hakwers in order to apply for a group loan. GRAIN assisted us with the paperwork and in June of 2013, we were provided a loan of one lahk with no interest. We only had to pay a 5,000 rupee operations fee. This loan proved to be significantly cost-effective in comparison to the 10% interest rates charged by money lenders. Every day each of the members of our committee paid 100 rupees, and we were able to pay off the loan in just 100 days! My fruit stall has been thriving since the loan as I am finally able to earn decent profits instead of using the margin to pay off interest. My friends and I are very interested in continuing to hear about GRAIN’s loan, insurance, and school scholarship services.
